James Bloor resided at 21, Exeter Street, Derby, with his father and his sister, and he worked for Derby Corporation. He had previously served with the Colours for eight years, and was in India for a considerable time. He had been home for two years, before being called up with the reserve. He returned home, having been wounded, at Christmas 1914, and returned to the front in January 1915.
At the time of his death, he was aged 31 and was unmarried.
